Standards & Conformance

Where Eightfold's accessibility stands today.

Talent Acquisition (including TA+) has successfully been completed by an independent third-party assessor, and a current VPAT®/Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR), dated July 30, 2026, is available upon request. This milestone reflects our continued investment in accessibility engineering, governance, and independent validation. We are extending independent accessibility assessment to additional Eightfold products, and publishing the results here as each is completed.

The following accessibility conformance information applies to Talent Acquisition (including TA+), which has been independently assessed by a third-party assessor. The accessibility practices, governance, and engineering processes described throughout this page apply across the broader Eightfold Talent Intelligence Platform.

Our current Accessibility Conformance Report (ACR)/VPAT® for Talent Acquisition (including TA+), dated July 30, 2026, is based on an independent evaluation performed by a third-party using manual accessibility testing, automated testing tools, assistive technology testing, and testing by individuals with disabilities. A copy is available to customers and prospective customers upon request through our Trust Portal or Accessibility team. Additional product assessments are completed and published according to our accessibility program.

Responsive web accessibility

Independently tested with assistive technology.

The Eightfold Talent Intelligence Platform is delivered as a responsive web application. We design and test the web experience to support a wide range of browsers, devices, screen sizes, keyboard navigation, and assistive technologies, the same technologies our QA team tests with each release.

For enterprise buyers

Built into how enterprise customers evaluate us.

Enterprise customers rely on our accessibility program during procurement, security review, and renewal, not just at launch. Here is what we typically provide.

VPAT / ACR on request

A current independent third-party assessment VPAT/ACR for Talent Acquisition (including TA+), available to customers and prospects during procurement.

Independent assessment

Independent accessibility assessment performed by a third-party assessor, in addition to our own internal audits and continuous automated scanning.

Continuous monitoring

Accessibility is not assessed once and forgotten. CI/CD scanning and periodic re-audits track conformance as the platform evolves.

Direct answers, not boilerplate

Security and accessibility questionnaires are answered by people who own the program, not a generic template.

How we build it

A dedicated program, not a one-time fix.

The Accessibility Center of Excellence

Accessibility at Eightfold is not one person’s side project. A dedicated Accessibility Center of Excellence (COE), staffed by accessibility subject-matter experts, including an IAAP-certified accessibility professional (CPACC), sets the standard, runs design and component reviews, owns our VPAT/ACR program, trains the rest of engineering and design, and governs how accessibility decisions get made across the company.

  • Accessibility SMEs (subject-matter experts): Own WCAG interpretation, set internal standards, and are the escalation point for edge cases the AI agent pipeline cannot resolve on its own.
  • QA & assistive tech testing (manual verification): Tests critical workflows with screen readers and keyboard-only navigation before major releases, using the toolkit below.
  • Design & component review (inclusive design): Runs accessibility design reviews and component-level validation (contrast, focus states, motion, content structure) before a line of code is written.
  • Program, governance & compliance (audits, VPAT & ACR): Coordinates independent accessibility assessments with a third-party assessor, publishes and reviews VPAT/ACR documentation with customers, and governs our accessibility roadmap and reporting.

Accessibility isn't a checkpoint at the end of development. It's a shared responsibility across design, engineering, and quality assurance. By combining human expertise with AI-assisted workflows, we build products that create equal access to opportunity for everyone.

- Rajendra Balla, Accessibility Center of Excellence, Eightfold AI

Accessibility at each stage of development

Accessibility is not a single gate at the end of a release. It is checked at each stage, from the first design mock to the moment a feature is live in production, and monitoring continues after release.

  1. Design
  2. Design review
  3. Development
  4. Automated scan
  5. Manual testing
  6. Screen reader testing
  7. VPAT review
  8. Production
  9. Continuous monitoring ↺ Design

Continuous monitoring feeds straight back into design. Issues found in production become the next cycle’s design and engineering inputs, closing the loop.

Design reviews, before a line of code is written

Major features go through structured accessibility review at the design stage, not just a final QA pass.

  • UX review: Flows, content structure, and interaction patterns are reviewed for clarity, predictability, and cognitive load before visual design begins.
  • Design review: Mockups are checked for color contrast, focus order, touch target size, and motion before they are handed to engineering.
  • Component review: New or modified components are validated against our accessible component library and design system before reuse across the product.
  • Engineering review: Implementation is checked against the approved design and WCAG 2.2 AA criteria as part of code review, before it reaches automated scanning.

AI-assisted accessibility engineering

To accelerate accessibility remediation, Eightfold built a system of specialized AI agents to analyze, fix, test, and ship accessibility corrections under human review, clearing a backlog that would normally take 6 to 10 months to resolve manually in about two months. Each fix is scoped narrowly to the reported issue and shipped with automated regression tests. The agents propose and validate, and a human engineer always reviews and approves before anything reaches production.

This human-reviewed agent pipeline (analyze, implement, test, publish) resolved hundreds of accessibility issues with full automated test coverage and zero scope creep.

  1. Ticket filed
  2. Analyze issue
  3. Implement & test
  4. Open PR
  5. Human review & merge

This isn't about replacing engineers. It's about amplifying their impact. Engineers spend less time on routine fixes and more time on innovation, architecture, and solving complex problems.

- Amir Mohammad, Director of Engineering, Eightfold AI

Quality assurance

Fixing today’s issues is only half the job. Our QA and engineering processes are built to catch accessibility regressions before they reach production and to keep improving as the platform evolves.

  • Automated scanning: Automated accessibility tooling (axe-core based automated scanning) runs alongside functional test suites to catch missing labels, contrast failures, and focus-order problems.
  • Manual & assistive-tech testing: QA engineers manually test critical workflows with keyboard-only navigation and screen readers to validate real-world usability, not just automated pass/fail signals.
  • Pre-merge review gates: Accessibility checks are part of our pull-request and CI/CD pipeline, catching new issues before they merge rather than after release.

Training and enablement

Accessibility is taught, not assumed. Training is provided to designers, developers, and teams across Eightfold, not just accessibility specialists.

  • New-hire onboarding: New engineers and designers complete an accessibility fundamentals module before shipping their first change.
  • Engineering workshops: Hands-on sessions on ARIA patterns, keyboard interaction models, and how our AI agent pipeline works, run by the Accessibility COE.
  • Design workshops: Contrast, focus order, motion, and content design training for product designers, tied directly to our design review checklist.
  • QA workshops & office hours: Recurring assistive-technology testing training, plus open office hours where teams can bring accessibility questions to the COE.
Governance

Owned, tracked, and reviewed quarterly.

Why it matters

Eightfold’s platform supports critical hiring and career decisions, so it needs to work reliably for people using screen readers, keyboard and switch navigation, voice control, and other assistive technologies, not as an afterthought, but as a baseline requirement. We hold ourselves to that standard the same way we hold ourselves to security and privacy standards: with clear ownership, measurable targets, and public accountability.

  • Built in from the start: Accessibility requirements are embedded into our design system and component library from the start, not retrofitted after launch.
  • Standards-based: Accessibility requirements based on WCAG 2.2 Level AA are incorporated into each product team’s definition of done and development lifecycle, alongside ADA and Section 508 expectations for enterprise and public-sector software.
  • Dedicated ownership: Our Accessibility team sets standards, trains engineering and design, and reviews the platform’s assistive-technology experience on an ongoing basis.
  • User-informed: We prioritize fixes based on real feedback from users with disabilities, not assumptions about what accessible should look like.

Organizational responsibility

Accessibility is not only an engineering task. It is governed as a cross-functional program. Accessibility is governed through quarterly reviews involving Engineering, Design, QA, Product Management, and Compliance. Progress is tracked using VPATs, internal audits, design reviews, and customer feedback, and reported to leadership quarterly.

  • Quarterly reviews: Engineering, Design, QA, Product Management, and Compliance meet each quarter to review accessibility progress and set priorities.
  • Tracked, not assumed: Progress is measured against VPATs/ACRs, internal audits, design review outcomes, and direct customer feedback, not self-reported anecdotes.
  • Reported to leadership: Quarterly findings, open risks, and roadmap decisions are shared with company leadership as part of standard governance reporting.

Meet Candidate Agent. One thread, not five hand-offs. From hello to applied.

Candidate Agent engages job seekers on SMS, WhatsApp, web, or voice, in 24+ languages, drawing on 1.6 billion career trajectories to surface roles they’d never think to search. It answers questions, tailors next steps, and makes it easy to book an interview.

Built on the talent intelligence that
sees the whole candidate.

Most hiring chatbots answer a question and stop. Candidate Agent understands each candidate’s skills, potential, and fit, including roles they may never think to search for.

One thread. The channels they use.

Candidates connect on SMS, WhatsApp, web, or voice, in 24+ languages. No app, login, or portal. Just the channel they already use.

Each candidate gets a tailored path.

It asks a forklift operator about certifications and shifts, and a software engineer about languages and frameworks. Adaptive, never static.

Built for fairer hiring.

Matching is grounded in job-related skills, not keywords or AI-written résumés.

No more “we’ll be in touch” silence.

Candidates get answers in seconds and stay in the loop. No black hole.

Stop losing candidates.

Candidates keep moving instead of dropping off. The conversation replaces the wait.

The candidate journey, finally visible.

See every message, match, and next step from first hello to applied. Structured, auditable, and bias-audited.

Candidate Agent engages job seekers on SMS, WhatsApp, web, or voice, in their language, then guides each one from first interest through application. It answers questions, tailors next steps, and makes it easy to book an interview.

Eightfold Candidate Agent is a conversational AI Talent Agent built for the candidate experience. It gives each job seeker a real, personalized conversation from first message through discovery, questions, and application, then hands them directly into the interview process. It runs on SMS, WhatsApp, web and voice, in 24+ languages, native to the Eightfold Personalized Career Site, with matching grounded in more than 1.6 billion career trajectories.

Most conversational tools qualify a candidate and stop, or automate one step and forget the candidate at the next. Candidate Agent carries a continuous thread through discovery, questions, and application, with no handoffs and no re-introductions. And it matches on skills, grounded in more than 1.6 billion career trajectories, not keyword search or a résumé that may have been written by the same AI flooding the funnel.

Yes. Talent Intelligence, human led. Candidate Agent handles the conversation, and recruiters make the decisions. The matching model is explainable and independently bias-audited under NYC Local Law 144, and Eightfold’s use of AI is guided by an AI Ethics Council.

Candidate Agent runs on SMS, WhatsApp, web, and voice, with support for 24+ languages. Candidates engage on the channel they already use, in the language they prefer.

Responsible AI at Eightfold means building explainable systems, governing them through defined principles and oversight, and grounding them in technical rigor. The matching model behind Candidate Agent has an independent bias audit by BABL AI under NYC Local Law 144, and Eightfold’s AI is guided by an AI Ethics Council and regular third-party audits.

No. Candidate Agent runs on its own. It engages candidates, answers questions, recommends relevant roles, and supports them through the application process.

Pair it with AI Interviewer and you get more: one connected flow from first interest to skills assessment, so candidates move forward faster and your team spends less time coordinating. For the strongest candidate experience, deploy them together.

Built on the talent intelligence that sees what others miss.

Most interview tools give you a transcript. AI Interview Companion gives you skills-based talent intelligence — grounded in role details, candidate potential, and likely job performance.

One toggle. Your existing tools.

Works inside Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. No need for interviewers to adopt new software, no change to how interviews are run.

Every interviewer, same consistent quality.

Real-time prompts and competency tracking mean every interviewer—even one who rarely interviews — can run the same quality conversation.

Built for fairer hiring.

Every interview is anchored to job-related competencies — not gut feel. A defensible, auditable record of what was asked and how decisions were made.

No more "I'll fill in the feedback later."

Interviewers leave the call with a complete, structured draft prepared for them.

Stop chasing feedback.

Completion rates skyrocket because the hard part—the blank page — is already done.

Your interviews were a black box. Not anymore.

A full record of what was asked, what was said, and how hiring decisions were made — structured, auditable, and defensible.

Understands the candidate, not just the conversation.

AI Interview Companion uses Eightfold’s Talent Intelligence to surface role fit, candidate potential, and critical evaluation factors in real time — not just what was said, but what it means.

A second brain in the interview room.

No video. No voice. No interruptions. AI Interview Companion sits in the background of the call—tracking coverage, surfacing gaps, and drafting feedback before the tab closes.

Structured.

Every conversation anchored to the skills and competencies that actually matter for the role. Nothing important missed. Nothing off-topic covered.

Silent.

It never speaks. Never interrupts. Prompts arrive quietly in chat while your interviewer stays completely focused on the candidate in front of them.

Frequently asked questions.

AI Interview Companion joins every human-led interview on Zoom, Google Meet, or Microsoft Teams — with no new tool for interviewers to learn. Candidates are notified before every session and can opt out. Every hiring decision stays with your team. The companion auto-drafts structured, competency-mapped feedback within minutes of the call ending, ready to review in 5 to 10 minutes and synced to your ATS.

An Eightfold Talent Agent that can join human-led interview in the background — on Zoom, Meet, or Teams — to prepare interviewers, guide conversations in real time, and auto-draft feedback the moment the call ends.

No. AI Interviewer is an Eightfold Talent Agent that conducts AI-led candidate interviews. AI Interview Companion is built for human-led interviews — your interviewer runs the conversation, the companion supports it.

No. Recruiters toggle it on when scheduling inside Eightfold. Interviewers join the same Zoom, Meet, or Teams link they always use. Nothing changes about how the interview is run. The companion just shows up with them.

Yes, always. Candidates are notified before the interview that an AI companion will be present. They can opt out — and if they do, the companion is removed and the interview continues as normal. Transparency is built into the process.

Your team. Always. The companion drafts the feedback. Your interviewers review, adjust, and submit it. Every judgment call stays with the humans in the room. The AI does the documentation. People do the deciding.
Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams. It works with whatever your team already uses. No migration, no reconfiguration.
Yes, where configured. Feedback is stored in Eightfold and can sync back to your applicant tracking system. Your Eightfold representative can walk you through the integration options for your setup.

Those tools give you a transcript. Our award-winning AI Interview Companion gives you structured, competency-mapped feedback drafted and ready to review — plus real-time guidance during the call. Ask it a question mid-interview, get an answer. It doesn’t just record what happened. It helps you run a better interview while it’s happening.

AI Interview Companion is designed for fast activation. Because it works inside your existing Eightfold scheduling flow and connects to Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teams with no new software, deployment is typically a matter of configuration, not implementation. Speak with your Eightfold representative for a timeline based on your specific setup.

Frequently asked questions.

An AI interviewer is an autonomous system that conducts job-specific interviews at scale, using role-based reasoning to evaluate what candidates say, not just resume keywords. Strong AI interviewers judge what’s said, not how someone looks, sounds, or emotes.

Yes. Eightfold AI Interviewer is purpose-built for organizations with 1,000 to 5,000 employees that face enterprise-scale hiring volume with lean talent acquisition teams. It automates 80% of manual recruiter tasks, supports 24/7 interviewing in 22+ languages, and reduces time-to-fill by 33% — without requiring a large implementation project or additional headcount.

Eightfold AI Interviewer is designed for fast deployment — recruiting teams are typically up and running in weeks, not months. It works alongside your existing applicant tracking system with minimal IT overhead, and compliance certifications including SOC 2, ISO 27001, and ISO 42001 are in place before your first interview goes live.

An AI interviewer conducts structured, conversational interviews with candidates at any hour without requiring a recruiter to be present. Eightfold AI Interviewer guides each candidate through a tailored conversation, then delivers structured assessments and insights to help recruiters and hiring managers make confident decisions. Human teams retain full control over every outcome — AI surfaces the signal, people make the call.

Eightfold AI Interviewer conducts candidate evaluations and delivers consistent, structured insights so your recruiting team can focus on human-led conversations with the strongest candidates. Recruiters retain full control over hiring decisions — AI surfaces the signal, people make the call.

Eightfold AI Interviewer can conduct over one million interviews per hour, evaluating every candidate with the same structure, scoring criteria, and rigor — regardless of volume. Recruiters receive consistent, data-driven insights on every candidate without added headcount or scheduling overhead.

Eightfold AI Interviewer delivers results from day one — time-to-hire shrinks from 42 days to 5 days, and time-to-interview is reduced by up to 99%. Recruiters receive structured evaluations and data-driven insights within hours of candidates completing their interview.

Our award-winning AI Interviewer runs on a Talent Intelligence engine trained on 1.6 billion real-world career trajectories, not a generic LLM. It evaluates candidates in the context of real roles, skills, and career paths. Organizations including the U.S. Department of Defense rely on it. It’s backed by SOC 2 and ISO 42001 certifications, and was named “Agentic AI HR Solution of the Year” in 2026 HR Tech Breakthrough Awards Program. It has also been independently audited for bias under New York City Local Law 144, with the results published in full.

Eightfold AI Interviewer runs functional, coding, and language evaluations in a single session — no separate rounds, no scheduling gaps. Through 360 Interview, a skilled trades evaluation completes in 20–25 minutes and an engineering interview always includes a coding round. Recruiters advance the candidate once. Eightfold AI Interviewer takes it from there.

Eightfold AI Interviewer covers the full spectrum of interviews — functional, coding, soft-skills, and language — within a single platform. Each interview type evaluates real skills rather than resume keywords, with STAR-based functional interviews, real-time reasoning checks for coding roles, and CEFR-based language proficiency assessment built in. For mid-market organizations, that breadth removes the need for separate tools across different role types.

Candidates complete a structured, conversational interview at a time that works for them — no scheduling dependency on a recruiter. Eightfold AI Interviewer does not analyze facial expressions, tone of voice, or accent; evaluation is based on what candidates demonstrate through their responses. The result is a 93% candidate NPS, with interviews available in 22+ languages around the clock.

Eightfold AI Interviewer includes built-in fraud detection that tracks cheating signals during interviews — including tab switching, camera manipulation, and duplicate voices — flagging suspicious activity for human review. Identity verification runs through trusted partners ID.me and CLEAR, confirming that the person interviewing is the original applicant.

No. AI Interviewer runs on its own. Pair it with Candidate Agent and you get more: one connected flow from first interest to skills assessment, so candidates move forward faster and recruiting teams spend less time coordinating. For the strongest candidate experience, deploy them together.

The Infinite Workforce

Escaping the legacy trap and scaling human potential with agentic AI

Welcome to the Intelligence Revolution, where people and machines will work together to create infinite capacity. The days of relying on traditional recruiting workflows and legacy systems isn’t just old school — it’s putting your talent operations at a strategic and significant disadvantage. If your recruiters are still spending time on administrative tasks instead of strategic talent work, you’re putting your business at a significant disadvantage.

Table of contents

Welcome to the Intelligence Revolution

We are living through one of the most profound shifts in history since the Industrial Revolution — the transition from working with software to scaling human potential with the power of agentic AI.

For decades, business growth has been dependent on the physical and cognitive limits of human recruiters. Traditionally, talent acquisition has been constrained by the limits of human bandwidth — defined by manual résumé screening, recruiter capacity, and administrative overhead. That era is over.

As talent leaders, you should no longer be discussing HR software. You should be discussing how to create an “Infinite Workforce,” where your recruiters stop managing processes and start orchestrating AI agents to execute hiring at scale. Imagine what you can achieve when you partner with agentic AI to take on the administration work while you build competitive advantages with larger talent pools and higher quality talent.

$2.6T to 4.4T

Generative AI has the potential to add between $2.6 trillion and $4.4 trillion annually to the global economy, according to McKinsey research. Critically, HR is pinpointed as a primary beneficiary of this growth, with 20% of its total value potential locked within talent acquisition and recruiting.

The age of infinite capacity

From software to superintelligence

We are standing at the threshold of the most profound shift in productivity since the Industrial Revolution: the transition from the era of software’s Information Age to the era of superintelligence — the Intelligence Age.

For decades, the relationship between humans and technology was predictable and linear. Technology was a tool — a passive instrument that sat idle until you gave it a command. You digitized forms, automated spreadsheets, and moved filing cabinets to the cloud. But even with these tools, the fundamental nature of work didn’t change. Your teams remained the sole executors of every task, creating a natural ceiling to organizational capacity. It’s time to shatter that ceiling.

"
The time for the Infinite Workforce is now. Let’s get to work.
Ashutosh Garg
CEO and Co-founder, Eightfold AI

The shift to agentic AI

We’ve entered the age of agentic AI — not just smarter software, but a new class of digital workers with the ability to autonomously act. As leaders on this forefront say, it’s no longer about writing code to organize data — we’re all “manufacturing intelligence.

According to Deloitte, six in 10 workers already think of AI as a coworker. Embracing digital workers is the next natural step as organizations look to scale. This represents a fundamental shift from an era defined by labor scarcity to one defined by capacity abundance.

Agentic AI is engineered to work in this dynamic environment. It has the ability to help you tame the unpredictable, see the unseen, and work toward solving HR challenges like reducing time to hire and improving candidate matching in real time. It doesn’t just automate steps or follow a pre-programmed path. Agentic AI reasons through complexity, adjusts strategies, and interprets context as it unfolds.

Most false agents rely on predefined flows and single-shot prompts. The reality is that talent work is recursive, often circling back to refine judgments, reconsider priorities, or revisit prior answers. These are all functions where agentic AI thrives.

The world of HR will continue to be more complex as AI and skills evolve. And as complexity scales, only AI that can blend automation with embedded reasoning will keep pace.

2025 Global Human Capital Trends report
— Deloitte

The phenomenon of time compression

The most immediate impact is what experts call time compression. Where previous industrial cycles measured progress in decades, we’re now compressing a century of advancement into a single decade.

Consider these examples:

1

Drug Discovery

Research that took years now happens in days.

2

Material science

Breakthroughs that required 20-year cycles now take months.

3

Enterprise operations

Complex coordination of people, strategy, and execution now happens at the speed of thought.

As a CHRO or talent acquisition leader, this creates urgency. If your competitors are using agentic AI to compress hiring cycles by 70% to 90%, your traditional linear talent models will leave your organization structurally disadvantaged within years, not decades.

A new operating model: The Infinite Workforce

This reality demands a new architectural framework — the Infinite Workforce.

Legacy models were simple: double your output, double your head count. This linear scaling belongs to the past. The Infinite Workforce is a hybrid model where people orchestrate digital agents to operate beyond the constraints of traditional capacity limits.

McKinsey research suggests that currently demonstrated technologies could, in theory, automate activities accounting for 57% of U.S. work hours today — an estimate that reflects the technical potential for change in what people do, allowing them to work more effectively and do what machines cannot.

Here’s how it works:

Agents handle execution at scale

Digital agents manage high-volume, data-intensive work. Unlike AI assistants that simply suggest edits, these agents execute complete workflows — from complex talent sourcing to managing global supply chains.

Talent leaders orchestrate from above

Instead of working in the weeds, your recruiters work above the operational layer. When agents handle administrative and repetitive tasks, they become architects and orchestrators — setting strategic direction, making judgment calls, and applying human capabilities.

In your Infinite Workforce, recruiting teams focus on what machines cannot replicate:

Judgment:
Making high-stakes decisions aligned with organizational values.
Persuasion:
Building relationships and attracting top talent to your mission.
Ethics and creativity:
Providing moral guidance and designing your future.

The destination: The cognitive enterprise

Your goal in this transition is to become a cognitive enterprise — an organization that doesn’t just use AI but runs on talent superintelligence.

Your cognitive enterprise learns, adapts, and innovates at rates human-only organizations cannot match. Talent is not a static cost to manage, but an infinite asset to liberate.

The WEF projects that 39% of workers’ core skills will change by 2030. Only your cognitive enterprise can respond at this pace — identifying, reskilling, and redeploying talent at market speed rather than manual HR process speed.

Real-world proof: The transformation of talent acquisition

This isn’t theoretical. It’s a $100 billion transformation happening now, with talent acquisition as the proving ground.

Why talent acquisition? It’s traditionally the most constrained department when it comes to scaling. But if your organization is already deploying digital agents, you can achieve unthinkable outcomes:

Multi-step reasoning icon

Dramatic productivity gains:

Agentic solutions save hiring managers and recruiters up to 70% of their time on sourcing activities, freeing them for personalized outreach, coaching, and strategic decisions, according to PwC research. Additionally, 66% of organizations adopting AI agents report measurable productivity value.

Autonomous tool selection icon

Revenue acceleration:

Revenue acceleration: Additionally, PwC analyzed nearly a billion job ads globally and found that AI-exposed industries achieved nearly three times higher revenue growth per employee (27% vs. 8.5%). PwC’s internal deployment of AI agents delivered 50% to 90% productivity gains across functions, proving how AI agents can fundamentally transform workforce capacity.

Closing the talent gap with AI at Eaton.

Eaton was looking for a way to modernize its talent acquisition process. Hiring nearly 15,000 people a year, Eaton’s recruiting teams needed to streamline dozens of systems and processes to better support its hiring process. It’s why their talent leaders turned to a solution powered by AI.

The challenge

Eaton keeps the world running with safe, sustainable power solutions, but to do that, the company needs the right people. Finding and hiring more than 15,000 employees each year was growing increasingly challenging due to its complex talent acquisition technology stack and fragmented recruiting processes

The solution

With AI, Eaton was able to give recruiters intelligent and automated tools to scale efforts, create a smoother candidate experience, and provide visibility into the opportunities employees craved.

These efforts led to a nine-day decrease in time to offer, $2.4 million in cost savings, and a 300% increase in the size of the company’s talent network, helping secure the right talent in a highly competitive marketplace.

The outcomes

4x increase in talent networks.

30-40% increase in candidate velocity.

Double-digit increases in all recruiting metrics: time to market, time to present, time to offer

Your “human scale” era is over. The era of your Infinite Workforce has begun.

The research is clear — the only constraint is how quickly you can rearchitect your organization to harness infinite capacity.

Frequently asked questions

To learn more about Infinite Workforce, here are some questions to get you started.

An Infinite Workforce is a hybrid operating model where human talent leaders orchestrate AI agents — autonomous digital workers — to execute high-volume recruiting and HR tasks at a scale that no human team could match alone. Rather than adding headcount to increase output, organizations deploy AI agents on demand, breaking the traditional one-to-one relationship between staff size and capacity. The concept is explored in depth in Eightfold AI’s ebook, The Infinite Workforce.

Agentic AI refers to AI systems that can autonomously execute complete workflows — not just assist humans with tasks. Traditional HR software digitizes processes but still requires a human to initiate every action, effectively giving organizations “faster typewriters.” Agentic AI, by contrast, eliminates tasks entirely by doing the work itself. sourcing candidates, conducting interviews, and managing communications without waiting for human input at each step.

Eightfold AI research identifies seven pillars organizations need to drive successful AI innovation:

  1. Ensure leadership alignment between the CHRO and C-suite.
  2. Nurture an innovation and experimentation culture.
  3. Set governance and security guardrails for responsible AI use.
  4. Develop AI talent and skills across the workforce.
  5. Build a modern data and technology platform.
  6. Optimize and redesign processes with AI.
  7. Create a forward-looking vision for how people and machines will work together.

Organizations that address all seven — rather than treating AI adoption as a purely technical project — are significantly more likely to see measurable business impact.

Based on an Eightfold AI survey of 700 global organizations, the top barriers to AI innovation in HR are. lack of AI skills and knowledge (cited by 64% of respondents), staff resistance to adoption (55%), and organizational silos that prevent transformation (47%). Notably, these are people and culture challenges — not technology challenges — which is why early CHRO involvement in AI transformation is critical.

General-purpose large language models (LLMs) are optimized for language fluency, not hiring accuracy. They have no training on actual hiring outcomes, lack built-in fairness mechanisms to prevent demographic bias, and don’t understand the nuanced career physics of skill adjacency and role transitions. In internal research by Eightfold AI, the best general LLM tested scored only 0.773 on an intersectional fairness measure, compared to 0.906 for a purpose-built hiring model — a significant gap with real consequences for candidate equity and legal compliance.

Skills-based hiring is an approach that evaluates candidates on their demonstrated and adjacent capabilities rather than relying on résumés, job titles, or credentials alone. It matters because traditional job descriptions are static — they reflect the past, not future potential. Research cited in The Infinite Workforce shows that more than half the skills required for account executive roles also appear across 175 other occupations, meaning talent pipelines can be dramatically widened by looking beyond obvious candidates. AI-powered talent intelligence makes skills-based hiring practical at scale by mapping billions of real-world career trajectories to identify non-obvious matches human recruiters would miss.

Several enterprise organizations have reported measurable outcomes after implementing AI-native talent solutions.

  • Eaton achieved a 4x increase in talent network size, a 30–40% increase in candidate velocity, a nine-day decrease in time to offer, and $2.4 million in cost savings.
  • Softtek integrated 90% of its workforce into an AI platform and saw a 25% improvement in time to candidate and a 30% reduction in time to fulfill.

AI transformation in the enterprise is fundamentally a people challenge. Organizations that involve their CHRO early are 81% less likely to face AI skills gaps, 41% less likely to experience staff resistance, and 36% less likely to be blocked by organizational silos. Organizations that build a strong CHRO-CIO partnership from the start also report 88% higher staff productivity, 84% higher profitability, and 84% higher retention — yet only 1% of organizations just beginning their AI journey recognize this partnership as essential.

According to The Infinite Workforce, an effective agentic talent operating system is built on three layers.

  1. The Fuel — A 360-degree global talent map trained on billions of real-world career trajectories, providing context that internal-only legacy data cannot supply.
  2. The Brain — A talent intelligence engine that replaces generalist AI guesswork with domain-specific reasoning, predicting where candidates can go rather than just cataloguing where they’ve been.
  3. The Hands — The agentic layer of specialized digital workers (AI interviewers, career coaches, manager assistants) that autonomously execute end-to-end workflows at scale.

Organizations don’t need a complete transformation to get started. The recommended approach is a focused proof of concept within 30 days. identify one high-volume recruiting process where manual work creates the biggest bottleneck (such as initial phone screens or first-round interviews), deploy an AI agent alongside the existing process, and track four metrics — time-to-fill reduction, recruiter hours saved, interview completion rates, and candidate experience scores. This generates concrete ROI data and builds internal momentum for broader adoption, without requiring enterprise-wide change from day one.

When everyone claims ‘AI’ in HR — Here’s the checklist that actually matters

When every solution claims to be “AI-powered”, AI is no longer a differentiator. Responsible, trustworthy AI is. If you’re an HR, TA, or TM leader evaluating AI-powered HR software, here’s a simple checklist to use before you buy.

1️⃣ Fairness is engineered, not promised.

Fair outcomes require intentional design, testing, and monitoring — not just good intentions. Without built-in fairness controls, AI can replicate or amplify historical bias at scale.

  • Are fairness and bias checks built into the model lifecycle?
  • Does the vendor test outcomes across gender, race, age, disability, and other protected attributes pre- and post-deployment?
  • Are there tools like candidate masking or diversity analytics to reduce unconscious bias?

2️⃣ Transparency and explainability.

If recruiters, hiring managers and HR leaders can’t understand how recommendations are generated, they can’t trust or responsibly act on them. Explainability is essential for accountability, adoption, and decision-making.

  • Can recruiters, hiring managers and HR leaders understand and review why the resulting recommendations were generated?
  • Are insights grounded in job-related factors (skills, experience), not opaque scores?

3️⃣ Human-in-the-loop by design.

AI should support human judgment, not replace it. Keeping recruiters and hiring managers in control preserves context, nuance, and ethical responsibility in decisions that affect real lives.

  • Is AI used to support decisions, not replace them?
  • Do humans retain control over hiring, promotion, and mobility decisions?

4️⃣ Governance and accountability.

Responsible AI requires real ownership across product, engineering, legal, and compliance — not just technical controls. Without governance, there’s no mechanism to manage risk, address issues, or enforce standards over time.

  • Is there a real Responsible AI governance process — or just a marketing page?
  • Does the company have cross-functional oversight (engineering, product, legal, compliance)?
  • Is there an independent AI ethics council with credible expertise?

5️⃣ Independent validation.

Internal and external audits and regulatory readiness provide proof that systems work as claimed. Independent validation separates serious platforms from vendors relying only on their own assurances.

  • What bias audits has the system undergone? Is the company committed to both internal and third-party bias audits?
  • Can the vendor support regulatory requirements (e.g., NYC Local Law 144) today — not “on the roadmap”?
  • Can the vendor support your model risk management assessments with clear documentation, explainability, evidence and risk monitoring information?

6️⃣ Continuous monitoring, not “set and forget.”

Talent markets, roles, and data evolve constantly. Without ongoing monitoring, models can degrade or introduce new bias over time.

  • Are models monitored in production for performance drift and bias over time?
  • Is there a process to retrain responsibly as data and roles evolve?

7️⃣ Privacy by design.

HR systems, by their nature, handle large amounts of personal data. Strong privacy architecture protects individuals, reduces legal risk, and prevents AI systems from exposing personal information.

  • Is PII stripped before model training? Can PII be masked to reduce bias from human decision-makers?
  • Is the platform compliant with GDPR, CCPA, and emerging privacy and AI regulations?

8️⃣ Will this system expand opportunity — or quietly narrow it?

The real test of HR AI is its impact on people’s careers. The best systems broaden access, surface hidden talent, and enable mobility.

  • Does it help candidates discover roles they might not otherwise see?
  • Does it encourage inclusion, mobility, and upskilling — not just filtering?

Agentic AI in HR.

The ultimate guide to knowing the difference between true innovation and false agents in enterprise talent tech.

True agentic AI replicates the subtle, often invisible cognitive work that people constantly perform: shifting context mid-task, drawing connections across unrelated inputs, and rerouting plans in real time. Without these capabilities, what’s marketed as an “agent” is just prepackaged scripts dressed in hype. This guide offers a clear framework to identify true agentic AI, ensuring your decisions are informed by what it takes to build systems capable of sustaining complex, enterprise-scale talent operations.

Welcome to the age of agentic AI.

Enterprise HR and talent leaders are encountering an influx of AI products marketed as “agents.” But beneath the buzz, most offering lack the essential qualities that define agentic behavior. The danger isn’t just wasting budget on suboptimal technology — it’s embedding brittle, shallow systems into critical workflows that demand flexibility, judgment, and resilience.

$2.6T to 4.4T

Gen AI is poised to make a significant economic impact, with estimates suggesting it could contribute between US$2.6 trillion and US$4.4 trillion annually to global GDP by 2030 across various sectors. The future of gen AI is agentic, where AI agents collaborate in real-time to automate complex tasks and enhance decision-making.

Agentic AI: True vs. false agents

In the race of advanced AI, it’s more difficult than ever to know what is true agentic AI and what is a false agent.

True agentic AI can take action — like clicking or filling out fields — across digital spaces it understands. It can achieve goals without needing every step or data insight to be explicitly coded. It operates more like networks of specialized sub-agents working in sync, each handling a cognitive function. It can monitor for redundancies, identify ethical concerns, detect unexpected behaviors, and dynamically adjust to accommodate changing workflows — even engage in dialogue and adjust in conversations.

Think of these “sub-agents” like parts of your brain undertaking different functions to operate as a whole. These agents can collaborate to navigate nuances and maintain fluidity. Gone are the days of inflexible, pre-programmed chatbots. Agentic AI can take on more tasks like scheduling, coordinating, even interviewing to free up your time to do higher level work.

Here’s an easy chart to compare the fundamental differences between true agentic AI and false agents.

Why now is the time for agentic AI

Talent environments aren’t static — your HR tech solution shouldn’t be either.

Modern enterprise talent environments are dynamic, unpredictable, and shaped by incomplete information, ambiguous goals, and constant change. Roles shift. Skills evolve. Career paths are non-linear. Your decisions can’t always wait for perfect data.

Over half (51%) of organizations are exploring the use of AI agents and another 37% are piloting AI agents.

True agentic AI in action

Essential capabilities of true agentic AI include:

Multi-step reasoning icon

Multi-step reasoning and planning.

Executes complex goals by breaking them into dynamic subtasks, adapting as new information arises, much like an interviewer adjusting to changes in conversation with a candidate.

Autonomous tool selection icon

Autonomous tool selection and execution.

Selects what tools, product features, or third-party applications it needs — even mid-process — without relying on predefined paths. If one tool fails, it reroutes, selects alternatives, and regenerates outputs without stopping.

Short and long-term memory icon

Short- and long-term memory.

Retains preferences, past decisions, and contextual cues over time. For example, knowing a hiring manager’s preferred scheduling times for interviews without needing reminders in every workflow.

Troubleshooting and course correction icon

Troubleshooting and course correction.

Detects misalignment, redundancy, or ethical concerns. It can identify duplicate questions, or recognizes when answers suggest the need to change the conversation.

Context-aware decision-making icon

Context-aware decision-making.

Maintains flexible flows through hierarchical structures. The agent can seamlessly move between subjects, pause deep dives, or reprioritize based on a candidate's responses.

Developing your own agentic AI would require significant investment, including developing multi-layered systems that coordinate dozens of specialized processes in parallel and ensuring that the agent doesn’t only execute but evolves as it works.

To ensure your journey with agentic AI starts right, know how true agentic AI should work. Whether you’re planning to build or buy a solution, awareness of the key differences will set you on the right path.

Spotting false agents

False agents appear impressive — think slick voice commands or fast first drafts — but fall apart in tougher challenges like staying grounded in changing context, reasoning through unscripted problems, or making decisions without constant oversight.

Here are some top signs you’re looking at a false agent, not true agentic AI:

False Agent Alert: Systems that feel impressive in demos but fall apart in live scenarios where ambiguity is common.

What this means for your enterprise talent team

For talent teams juggling complexity and high volume, true agentic AI goes deeper than automating clicks or firing off reminders. It runs entire workflows, adapts as things change, and applies human-like judgment across thousands of moving parts.

This isn’t about offloading busywork — true agentic AI expands your team’s thinking powers. That means handling not just tasks, but decisions, adjustments, and reflection. True agents lift both the manual and mental weight by spotting issues early, keeping processes healthy, and giving your team more space to focus on strategy.

False agents trap teams in endless patchwork: constantly rewriting prompts, overseeing brittle flows, and manually correcting what the system failed to catch.

Deloitte predicts that in 2025, 25% of companies that use gen AI will launch agentic AI pilots or proofs of concept, growing to 50% in 2027.

The cost of getting agentic AI wrong

If you’re looking for a true enterprise agentic AI solution, getting it right the first time is essential to your success. Failing to distinguish true agentic AI from false agents could lead to:

Multi-step reasoning icon

Losing trust from systems that overpromise and underdeliver.

Autonomous tool selection icon

Security and compliance gaps from mishandled sensitive data.

Short and long-term memory icon

Falling behind as competitors deploy adaptive, self-improving systems.

Troubleshooting and course correction icon

Systems that require constant oversight and reconfiguration.

Context-aware decision-making icon

Escalating costs from inefficiencies, redundant work, and continuous patching.

True agentic AI involves the complex orchestration of multiple reasoning layers, persistent memory management, governance oversight, and real-time adaptability. It should replicate human-like behaviors across vast, unpredictable environments. If it seems cheap and fast, it’s probably just automated workflows in disguise.

10 questions to ask about agentic AI

It’s critical to thoroughly vet any HR technology partner. Here are 10 questions to get you started.

- How does the system handle real-time, dynamic task adjustment?
False agent: We’ve designed dynamic workflows that respond to different user inputs and can reroute tasks through pre-configured branches.
True agentic AI: The agent re-evaluates its plan during execution and adjusts next steps based on live inputs or unexpected changes, without restarting.
+ What memory structures are in place to retain context over time?
False agent: The system remembers recent activity within a session and uses cookies or cached data to personalize the experience.
True agentic AI: The system uses persistent memory to retain context across sessions — storing what’s been done, what worked, and how it should inform future actions.
+ How are decisions explained to end users?
False agent: We provide summaries and high-level justifications for the results, so users understand what happened.
True agentic AI: The agent shows its work — tracing each decision back to the data it used, the steps it took, and the logic behind it — so you’re never left guessing how it got there.
+ What happens when the system encounters ambiguity or incomplete data?
False agent: We’ve trained the model to provide the best possible answer based on available input — even when information is missing.
True agentic AI: It identifies gaps, pauses execution, and either asks clarifying questions or retrieves additional data before proceeding.
+ How does it prevent redundant or irrelevant actions?
False agent: Our workflows are optimized to avoid repeating steps, and we’ve tuned the prompts to be as efficient as possible.
True agentic AI: It continuously monitors task history and context in real time, suppressing duplicate actions and adjusting based on what’s already been done.
+ What governance safeguards continuously operate in the background?
False agent: We follow enterprise-grade security protocols and audit all actions on a scheduled basis.
True agentic AI: There are real-time compliance and safety layers that review every agent action for policy alignment, bias risk, and escalation triggers.
+ How many distinct systems or processes coordinate to make the agent function?
False agent: Our architecture integrates a powerful LLM with automation tools and custom APIs, all in one seamless stack.
True agentic AI: Multiple coordinated components — like planning engines, reflection loops, memory modules, and tool routers — operate together to drive behavior.
+ How does the system monitor and correct itself mid-process?
False agent: If something goes wrong, we have fallback logic that restarts the process or routes it to support.
True agentic AI: The agent checks its work as it goes, tweaking steps or reworking decisions in real time based on what’s actually happening, not just what was expected.
+ What evidence do you have of agentic AI learning over time?
False agent: We regularly fine-tune the model and apply updates based on aggregated user behavior and usage patterns.
True agentic AI: The agent continuously learns as it goes, adapting its behavior based on historical patterns, user preferences, and feedback signals to improve outcomes over time.
+ What operational costs reflect agentic AI’s complexity (compute, monitoring, human-in-the-loop support)?
False agent: Our solution is lightweight and cost-efficient, with minimal infrastructure needed beyond prompt execution.
True agentic AI: Costs include the following: LLM runtime, memory management, orchestration overhead, and continuous monitoring, all reflecting the system’s cognitive workload.
