Cookie notice
Last updated: December 6, 2024
This Cookie Notice explains how Eightfold AI, Inc. and its subsidiaries (collectively, “Eightfold”, “we”, “us”, and “ours”) use cookies and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit, interact with or use any of Eightfold domains and/or any of Eightfold websites which make reference to this Cookie Notice, including https://www.eightfold.ai (“Websites”). It explains what these technologies are and why we use them, as well as your rights to control our use of them.
1. What are cookies?
Cookies are small data files that are placed on your computer or mobile device when you access a website. Cookies allow websites to recognize your device next time you visit, and track your use of the digital property, browsing history, personal preferences, and interests, and improve and customise your browsing experience. Cookies may contain or transmit unique identifiers that are considered personal information under certain data protection laws, such as IP address, device information, and website usage.
2. What kind of cookies does Eightfold use?
Eightfold may use the following categories of cookies in its Websites:
Category | Description |
Strictly Necessary Cookies | These cookies are necessary for the Website to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but some parts of the site will not then work. |
Performance Cookies | These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Website. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the Website. |
Functional Cookies | These cookies enable the Website to provide enhanced functionality and personalisation. They may be set by us or by third party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies then some or all of these services may not function properly. |
Targeting Cookies | These cookies may be set through our Website by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant adverts on other Websites. These cookies are based on uniquely identifying your browser and internet device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising. |
Social Media Cookies | These cookies are set by a range of social media services that we have added to the Website to enable you to share our content with your friends and networks. They are capable of tracking your browser across other websites and building up a profile of your interests. This may impact the content and messages you see on other websites you visit. If you do not allow these cookies you may not be able to use or see these sharing tools. |
3. Does Eightfold use other tracking technologies?
Cookies are not the only way to recognize or track visitors to our Websites. We may use other similar but technically different means from time to time, like web beacons (sometimes called “tracking pixels” or “clear gifs”). Web beacons are tiny graphics files that contain a unique identifier that enable us to recognize when someone has visited our Websites, clicked certain links, or opened an e-mail that we have sent them. Web beacons allow us, for example, to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our Websites to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Websites from an online advertisement displayed on a third party website, to improve site performance, and to measure the success of email marketing campaigns, as Web beacons tell if an email has been opened and acted upon. Unlike cookies, which are stored on the user’s hard drive, web beacons are typically embedded invisibly on web pages (or in an email). In many instances, these technologies are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies may impair their functioning.
4. How can I manage my cookie preferences?
You can manage your cookie preferences by using one or more of the mechanisms below:
a.) Your Privacy Choices
Eightfold uses a cookie consent tool, which you can utilize to customize your cookie preferences. Except for “Strictly Necessary Cookies”, you have the right to decide whether to accept or decline Cookies.
When you visit our Websites for the first time, a cookie consent banner will pop up and ask you to customize your cookie preferences. If you decide to change your preferences at a later date, you can easily do so by clicking on the “Cookie Settings” link located on the footer of our Websites. If you choose to reject Cookies, you can still use our Websites to perform the requested service, although your access to some additional functionality and areas may be restricted. Because web browser controls vary from browser to browser, you should visit your browser’s help menu for more information.
b.) Opting out of Advertising Cookies
To learn more about how to opt out of advertising cookies, you can go to the Your Online Choices page, the Network Advertising Initiative page, and the Digital Advertising Alliance’s Consumer Choice page. These opt-out tools are provided by third parties, not Eightfold. We do not control or operate these tools or the choices that advertisers and others provide through these tools.
c.) Global Privacy Control
In certain jurisdictions, you may use the Global Privacy Control (“GPC”) opt-out preference signal to opt-out of the use of Targeting Cookies and Social Media Cookies. For instructions on how to download and use GPC, please visit https://globalprivacycontrol.org/.
d.) Do Not Track (“DNT”)
Our Websites currently do not respond to the Do Not Track (DNT) browser signal.
5. Questions?
If you have any questions about our use of cookies or other technologies, please email us at privacy@eightfold.ai.
