MM Group transforms its talent strategy with AI

When MM Group acquired another company, which included onboarding 3,500 new employees, HR needed a more agile way to understand the needs of these new workers, so they developed a strategy for a successful integration.

At MM, I’m head of talent, attraction, and talent management on the group level. And my team and myself, we support our managers, especially the hiring managers.

So, MM is leading in consumer packaging, which means we produce paper and also cardboard and make folding boxes out of the cardboard. So for example, when you go to the supermarket and buy stuff which is packed in cardboard, this might be from us.

We have been actually in the phase of acquiring another company, which meant for us that we needed to integrate roughly 3,000 employees and new colleagues to our company and for them we needed to provide a system.

When we came across Eightfold, for me, the USP (unique selling point) was the way they thought about providing the service to not only the HR colleagues but also to the candidates, which is really customer-centric. And this was what I was looking for, especially – a system which is easy to use, a state of the art one, of course, AI based is something we will need to have in the future, especially in the next one to 2 years. This will be a standard like today’s mobile phone. In addition to that, it is scalable for us as a global international company, but also it has not only talent attraction, it also has talent management.

Eightfold enabled us to focus actually on the value creation which we are there for. So meaning, we support the business, the managers, the employees, as well as the candidates best when having a lot of information which we can then interpret. We can see what skills are required for this position and then talk with the hiring manager.

We managed to decrease the time to hire by 42%, we managed to increase the overall rate of applicants by 30% (or actually a bit more), and also we managed to attract more female applicants.

So, my vision with the cooperation with Eightfold is a long-term relationship with a focus on the best experience for all our employees. So, I want to have talent management in addition to talent attraction and allow all our employees to steer their careers within MM even better. So, with the insights we have now in the recruiting process, I also want the employees to have those insights so they can manage their careers and be in the driver’s seat.
