I’m the strategy and product lead for GigEagle. I’ve been part of the team since, literally, this was a whiteboard idea, where we were trying to solve a local problem of how we bring the best talent into the Defense Innovation Unit. That problem set has spun over and over and over again as we tried to improve on that. And I think what we’re doing today is going to change the way our Guard and Reserve and the entire Department of Defense is able to serve and protect our nation.

We really took a unique approach to this, where we were looking to take the talents of, in our initial use case, of the Guard and Reserve, many who have commercial jobs with civilian skills and experience, as well as their military specialty codes and training that goes with that. And we created a marketplace that captures all of that, helps you identify the best talent, and do it in a really accessible manner.

And I think the opportunity now to empower our Guard and Reserve or our other service members to use those interests, use those skills in new ways, and empower them to drive their career, was really the motivation behind all of this.

I think where AI comes into the picture and what the Eightfold’s platform has done for us is it allows us to do that at scale. It’s not about who I know, but it allows us to find the best talent and put it in the right place at that right time. And serve that mission.

So, we’ve seen incredible platform growth. We’ve got tens of thousands of users who are building their profiles and adding skills. We’ve got over a thousand gigs that have been posted. And what that accumulates is insights into tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands of skills that otherwise would go by the wayside.

And we see that there’s a need for us to partner with Eightfold to help us shape and configure our Department of Defense use cases. And grow as a team. And I think we’re excited to see where Eightfold goes. But also, applying that to new use cases that we never imagined.
