One of the great things about The New Talent Code is it highlights the people who are doing this work every day. So we’ve had a lot of great episodes, but there really are some that stand out. I think some of my favorites are, you know, helping people answer the question, where do I start and what do I need to get started? You know, a big part of where people often get stuck is they think they have to have everything perfect and all the data prepared for and accounted for before they can take the first step. And a key part of what this technology is designed to do is to help you get started. So, one of the first steps is to turn it on and allow AI and talent intelligence to start surface insights that help guide the way my advice really comes. These insights are in three parts.

First off, do your homework. There are many reputable resources, news sources, analysts, think tanks, and thought leaders, so you definitely have access to all of these. Do your homework. Number two, understand the problem you’re trying to solve. AI for HR comes in different flavors, so you really need to focus, hone in, and get buy-in across the organization on your top priorities for the year. And I think lastly, check references. Talk to people, either people who have rolled this out in organizations much like your own, or organizations who face similar problems, because I think that you want to make sure you understand what you’re getting into, really understand some of the objections that you might get, so that you are well prepared on your journey.

So it’s important to get to see the whole picture. You have to have that understanding of jobs and the organization, but also have an equal understanding of your talent in real time. So by having this process that’s designed around talent, like we say, a talent-centered approach, talent-centered design, it gives you the ability to see the complete picture, especially in today’s world, when you’re trying to operate today while planning for tomorrow, and you’re not sure what tomorrow may look like. Still, you know what skills you’re interested in, and you want to map that to your current audience of talent. You want to figure out how you can nurture and develop them for that past approaching future really is thinking beyond HR and enhancing HR and driving the outcomes that this connects to with the business and understanding what problems you’re solving and working backwards from there. So I think you know it’s little tidbits and anecdotes like that, that are these pearls of wisdom that come out of every episode, which is why I think people are finding the new talent code so helpful.
