Every CHRO knows the challenge: AI promises to revolutionize talent management, but most implementations fall short because they’re built by technologists, not practitioners.
Today, we’re announcing a hire that changes that equation. Amber Grewal is joining us as our new Chief Growth Officer, bringing more than two decades of experience transforming talent strategies at some of the world’s most influential organizations.
Reporting to CEO and Co-founder Ashutosh Garg, Grewal will be responsible for uniting product, sales, marketing, and customer success into one cohesive growth motion while ensuring our product innovation directly addresses what HR needs to transform talent functions across their organizations.
A practitioner’s perspective on AI’s promise
“I joined Eightfold because I believe this is the moment where AI is going to reshape the future of work and it has to be built the right way, with people at the center,” Grewal said. “After two decades as a talent leader, I’ve seen the challenges organizations face and the opportunities they miss when technology doesn’t serve people first.”
This perspective isn’t theoretical for Grewal — it’s hard-won insight from years on the front lines of talent transformation. Most recently, as Managing Director and Partner, and Chief Talent Officer at Boston Consulting Group (BCG), she led global talent acquisition and management strategies while consulting with Global 2000 companies.
Grewal’s standout achievements include leading the AI TALENT Promise, a cross-industry initiative promoting a people-first framework for bringing AI to life responsibly across hiring, learning, and development.
Before BCG, Grewal served as Chief Talent Officer at Intel, where she was responsible for end-to-end talent strategy and management. Earlier in her career, she was Corporate VP of Global Talent Acquisition at IBM, where she accelerated the reinvention of the organization’s talent functions by infusing AI and predictive analytics into recruiting processes while leading one of the world’s largest talent acquisition networks spanning 170 countries.
Beyond tech adoption to true transformation
Grewal understands that leading a successful AI implementation goes far beyond simply adopting new tech.
“Technology is a powerful enabler,” she said. “But the real impact comes when it’s aligned with how companies are evolving, the skills they need to build, and the future of work they’re preparing for.”
As Chief Growth Officer, Grewal will unite product, sales, marketing, and customer success into one growth motion. More importantly, she will ensure that our dedication to product innovation stays connected to what HR practitioners need.
“I’m excited to combine my experience leading large-scale workforce transformations with the Eightfold AI-native platform, helping our customers not only adopt new technology, but truly reimagine their talent strategies, their workforces, and the role of skills in driving growth,” Grewal said.
“There are few CHROs who can match Amber Grewal’s experience transforming talent at global companies, especially when it comes to AI innovation,” Garg said. “At Eightfold, she will be on the front line with customers helping them with strategic AI initiatives and shaping the product roadmap when these capabilities are critical for enterprises navigating workforce challenges.”
For Grewal, the opportunity represents the convergence of everything she’s passionate about.
“What excites me about Eightfold is not only the bold vision of building an agentic AI platform, but also the chance to help shape that vision with a practitioner’s lens,” she said. “It’s an opportunity to drive innovation while ensuring AI is ethical, responsible, and deeply human in the way it connects skills, opportunity, and growth.”
A leader who lives her values
Beyond her corporate achievements, Grewal is recognized as a Top 25 Global Leader in Human Capital and actively contributes to the broader conversation about the future of work. She serves as a board member and adviser for B-Capital, IoT Consortium, and NOVA Workforce Board.
Additionally, Grewal is committed to developing the next generation of female leadership through her work with Fairygodboss and Girls Who Code.
Grewal studied strategic HR management at Cornell University and holds a B.A. in leadership and organizational studies from St. Mary’s College of California, credentials that complement her real-world experience building and scaling talent organizations.
In a world where technology often feels like it’s happening to us rather than with us, leaders like Grewal ensure that the future of work remains fundamentally human. As she steps into this new role, she brings her expertise and a clear vision for how AI can serve people’s potential in the workplace.
We’re excited to see how her perspective will shape our dedication to innovating in the HR tech space and help our customers navigate the evolving landscape of AI in HR.
Amber Grewal will join us at HR Tech Wednesday, Sept. 17 at 11:45 a.m. PT for our session, Defining HR’s next chapter with agentic AI — before it’s defined for you in the Oceanside C Ballroom. You can also find us at booth #5527.
