- AI-native platforms like ours are leading the next wave of talent technology.

- Skills-based, AI-powered systems are redefining the future of talent acquisition and development — and are becoming even more instrumental in effective, efficient workforce planning and strategy.
As the talent technology market matures, AI-native platforms like Eightfold are redefining what’s possible. A wave of analyst reports from Gartner, Fosway, Everest Group, and Aptitude Research throughout 2025 shed light on this evolution.
The collective takeaway? While traditional vendors evolve by adding intelligence, we are leading by building intelligence-first — now expanding into core talent acquisition systems.
Here’s what the latest research reveals about our trajectory.
Reading between the reports
Over the past year, the CRM, skills management, talent marketplace, and ATS spaces have all been examined through various analyst lenses. Each firm brings its own methodology, criteria, and perspective.
But viewed together, they form a clear picture of where the market is heading — and how the products in our Talent Intelligence Platform are positioned to lead.
Curious where Eightfold is headed next? Chief Product Officer Sachit Kamat shares a peek at digital twins. Learn more in this recap of our current product roadmap.
Gartner: Momentum recognized, criteria-driven exclusion
In the 2025 Magic Quadrant for Talent Acquisition Suites, we’re included in the Honorable Mentions section. This reflects timing, not capability. At the time research began in late 2024, we didn’t meet Gartner’s inclusion thresholds around ATS-specific customer volume and global footprint.
Yet Gartner explicitly notes that our platform is “well-known in the market for its CRM, talent intelligence and talent marketplace offerings” — and is expanding meaningfully into ATS capabilities. This is recognition of strategic growth.
Every Magic Quadrant has a corresponding Critical Capabilities report. In the corresponding Critical Capabilities for Talent Acquisition Suites report, we are excluded, but again, that’s due to timing as this report only covers participants in the MQ.
In contrast, Gartner’s 2025 Hype Cycle for HR Technology directly validates our long-term strategy by including us as a representative vendor in four categories:
- AI-enabled skills management is rated as having “high” benefit potential.
- Internal talent marketplaces are labeled “transformational.”
- AI in talent acquisition is rated as having “high” benefit potential.
- Mentoring is characterized through employees’ desire for more personalized, targeted development.
These aren’t peripheral features. These are core to the future of talent strategy.
Fosway: Strategic leader status reinforced
In Fosway’s 2025 9-Grid™ for Talent Acquisition, we are positioned as a Strategic Leader — the coveted top-right quadrant indicating both high performance and high future potential.
This year, Fosway reclassified our Talent Intelligence Platform as a suite provider, thanks to the addition of Talent Tracking functionality. Importantly, we maintained our Strategic Leader position even under these more rigorous criteria.
Fosway’s commentary reinforces the broader trend:
“AI-native platforms are no longer fringe — they’re setting the pace for organizations willing to lead.”
That leadership is also evident in Fosway’s 9-Grid™ for Talent and People Success, where we are again named a Strategic Leader, confirming our strengths across both acquisition and development.

Everest Group: Skills intelligence at the core
Everest Group’s 2025 PEAK Matrix® for Skills Intelligence Platforms places us in the Market Leader quadrant. This report evaluates platforms in a specific category that enables automated skill tagging, personalized learning, and intelligent career pathing.
This is the foundation on which we are built. Our capabilities map directly to Everest’s definition of what forward-looking organizations need to thrive in a skills-based economy.
Aptitude Research: Redefining the ATS
Aptitude Research’s latest report, Beyond Tracking: The Evolution of the ATS, argues that the traditional applicant tracking system has reached its limits. Today’s hiring environment requires AI-driven, analytics-powered platforms that go far beyond workflow.
The report cites skills-based hiring and talent intelligence as must-haves in the modern ATS — exactly the approach we have taken from the beginning. The report goes on to describe an Intelligent Agentic ATS that shifts the focus from transactional hiring by using AI and skills intelligence to automate tasks and surfacing the right talent faster; improving hiring quality by prioritizing skills and potential over keyword-matching; enhancing recruiter productivity; and increasing functional and organizational agility.
Three important themes that connect the dots
When viewed together, these reports highlight a clear direction for the future of talent technology:
- AI is no longer optional — it’s foundational.
Gartner, Fosway, and Aptitude all emphasize AI as the primary driver of innovation.
- Skills are the new organizing principle.
Analysts agree: the shift from role-based to skills-based talent management is accelerating.
- The market is converging — we are leading.
Traditional vendors are adding AI. AI-native platforms like ours are adding traditional system capabilities. The future lies at this intersection.
Final take: A platform in motion
Analyst reports are snapshots — valuable indicators of how the market perceives vendors at a point in time. What these 2025 reports reflect is a company that is:
- Expanding quickly
- Leading with innovation
- Aligned with where the industry is heading
We are not just participating in the future of talent acquisition — we’re shaping it. As AI, skills intelligence, and marketplace thinking continue to converge, we’re committed to building the all-inclusive Talent Intelligence Platform modern organizations need to thrive.
