Our research

The evolution of work demands a new approach, and organizations centering talent and skills are seeing the benefits. Sometimes, it can be hard to make the switch from rigid roles and responsibilities to skills, so we published Talent-centered design: A blueprint for success in  the digital era to help HR teams think beyond process and talent optimization and embrace transformation through skills-based strategies.

This fall, we also released The Annual Eightfold Talent Survey, which found significant misalignments between HR and executives and introduced four imperatives to get realigned. In partnership with 3Sixty Insights, we surveyed 1,700 people worldwide and found that only 18% of HR leaders say their strategies align with business goals.

In May, we hosted our Cultivate Talent Summit, where Co-CEO and Co-founder Ashutosh Garg and Co-CEO Chano Fernandez presented their vision of where the industry is headed next with AI-native talent intelligence—to the moon. Garg shared that he believes AI’s moonshot moment is here, while Fernandez laid out how organizations like Eightfold will get there with ethical and responsible AI. Read the recap.

Another highlight from Cultivate was a panel discussion in which Salesforce and Netflix shared how they’re using talent intelligence to elevate employee experiences. Both organizations talked about how shifting to a “people over process” mindset has helped them source better talent internally and externally, create successful talent marketplaces, and give employees power over their career paths. Learn how they did it.

At HR Tech this fall, we introduced Talent Design. It’s a new Eightfold solution that brings all your skills data into one view and helps create a dynamic role library and consistent skills vocabulary that continuously updates with the latest market trends. Talent Design can help you build a better workforce while helping you better understand existing talent. Learn more.

Finally, both Garg and Fernandez shared their thoughts on the findings from The Annual Eightfold Talent Survey. Garg’s insights focused on how AI can help HR recruit and retain top employees while Fernandez says the findings opened his eyes to why talent misalignments might cost your business.
